About
“I am an artist living and working in West Sussex, United Kingdom. Drawing, painting and photography have been with me all my life, taking inspiration from two artistically gifted parents, I have always enjoyed the creative process.
Never having lived far from the sea and possessing a deep love of travel, have undoubtedly influenced my subject matter, although the big skies and empty coastlines that are predominant in my drawings and paintings are usually from my imagination and are rarely actual places. My love of nature and wilderness provide constant motivation when seeking to produce idealized and atmospheric images.
I have worked with many different media and am currently focusing on charcoal drawings and watercolour paintings. Trying to tame the organic nature of charcoal has been a challenge but also a lot of fun. My process involves the use of willow and compressed charcoal, ground to a powder and applied with brushes and a variety of other blending tools. It is a messy endeavour but I am excited to see where it leads.
Thank you for your interest in my work.”
